Fourth, themodel information was compared to the behaviour of actual systems. Fifth, themodel was repeated with random initial conditions. Thousands of trials were doneat this point. This model is often referred to as a virtual lab. When theinformation was taken at the conclusion of each test, it was sent to processingunits where it was studied in the form of a grid. These grids were then used tostudy the spatial patterns of various species. Such future models will be morecomplex and more specific, thus showing species habitats and migratory trends. Adjusting the variables in the model can allow scientists to measure suchactivities as the population density of a species. Through the experiment therewere three experiment sets. These included populations, disturbances, andresource mapping. The resource spatial structure also varied from uniform,smooth, and patchy environments (soil and forest types). Conclusion: Thisinformation is very valuable to environmentalists and society in general due tothe fact that it looks-out for species that may be in danger and monitorsthe move from one territory to another over a given time frame. During this time a rival company named Lockheed Martin Corporation brought Boeing to court based on an issue of an investigation of an improper acquisition of proprietary documents. Boeing employees utilized these documents in an attempt to get government rocket launching business. This particular legal issue also involved the hiring of a former Air Force member who was in charge of supervising Boeing contracts at the Pentagon. The end result of this legal issue was Boeing’s financial chief serving four months in prison on the charge of an ethics violation concerning the job offer to the Air Force member and the rocket launching case. The company themselves was banned from any further work with the Air Force concerning rockets for 20 months. This ban was estimated to cost Boeing an astonishing $1 billion due to the loss of the government contract. This was all thanks to substandard ethics presented by those responsible for these incidences. In the aftermath Boeing officials ma de moves to improve ethics in the company. The previous legal issue example emphasizes the importance of ethics in business. In that case Boeing lost $1 billion but they were able to move on. This policy’s main goal is to provide protection for both the company and the employees. Every employee is expected to maintain and enforce this policy and to help them do so they are issued a Code of Conduct handbook. There is also a hotline that they can call to place anonymous calls to report violations, suspicions, or to find out further information regarding the ethics policy. Boeing takes these policies very seriously because any detouring from this policy can reflect very badly on the company. Having respectful ethics improves the image of the company in the eyes of the public. However, another way for a company to boost their image would involve giving back to the community. In the past Boeing has demonstrated that they take the matter of giving back to the community to heart. They take their social responsibility so seriously it is on a world-wide scale. As of today they are working with various community organizations in 26 states and 14 countries. In addition to these partnerships the employees of Boeing has also donated money to charities and volunteered their personal time to work within their given communities. To date, Boeing employees have given over $10 million to charities and wo rked countless amounts of man-hours for the betterment of their community. Although maintaining a respectful public image and giving back to the people who help with the businesses success Boeing is foremost a company. And one of the most deciding factors concerning companies would be the economy. Much like every other business the economy affects how Boeing plans operationally, strategically and tactically. Since the recent decrease in the United States economy the major airlines nationwide have been suffering financially. When the airlines suffer many other companies suffer right along with them, Boeing was such a company. Business has decreased and orders have been cancelled. However, Boeing does have orders for more cost effective planes which only goes on to emphasize just how much the economy can affect Boeings organization. Since the recent economic downfall Boeing has learned that they must remain flexible concerning their control of world-wide manufacturing plans. However, economic standing is not the only factor affecting how Boeing plans tactically and strategically. One other factor affecting Boeing in that aspect would be their competition. Boeing greatest competition in the airline industry is Airbus whereas Lockheed Martin is the largest completion in the defense industry. Boeing is not looking to merely keep up with competitors such as Airbus and Lockheed Martin, they are looking to keep ahead of their rivals. In order to do this Boeing is teaming up with other companies across the globe. The companies that are partnered with Boeing help with research, development, and demographics. By engaging with these other companies Boeing has a better chance to stay ahead of their competition. And they do this by not only offering affordable products but also by providing the most creative aerospace solutions in the world. Almost since the time of the Wright brothers the government has had their hand in the aviation industry. The government is now in charge of establishing air routes; developing air navigation systems; providing pilots license; aircraft mechanics; and investigating airline accidents. What gave the government the authority over these aspects of the airline industry was the Air Commerce Act. The Air Commerce Act also requires that all aircraft designs must be approved by the government. If an airplane manufacture receives a type certificate the government has approved their design and they can proceed with their production. Companies such as Boeing have no decisi on in this matter so in order to avoid production delays they simply abide by these laws and regulations. Like any other major business there are many factors that Boeing has to take into consideration in order to maintain their success. These revolutionaries were from China, Cuba, Brazil, and Martinique, respectively, and all were affiliated with Communism. Much of domestic counter-terrorism in the U.S. is militia-watching. There are two kinds of militia-those acting above ground and those below ground. They share the same right-wing ideology although structures and recruitment methods might be different. They both fear losing constitutional rights (Sunde & Shukovsky, 2001) while believing themselves superior. Examples of domestic terrorism in the past can be attributed to the Ku Klux Klan, Confederate Civil War veterans who had no compunction against practising violence, burning down black churches and lynching black citizens. The Effects of the Immigration Justice System Essay Illegal Immigration in America is at an all time high, but what the government is failing to see is the after affects this has on family and children of illegal immigrants. After September 2011 government has started enforcing immigration laws in staggering numbers, when in fact some of these illegal immigrants have been in this country for many years living a productive life with their families. After years of immigration laws being looked over now everyone in the illegal immigrants’ life is affected due to stiffer immigration laws. Immigration is a topic on a lot of people’s minds these days. Many illegal immigrants are being pulled over due to racial profiling. According to Hughes (2012), â€Å"Nearly half of the suspected illegal immigrants picked up for deportation under Frederick County’s enforcement program last year were arrested for a traffic violation or driving without a license, according to county records. † Subsequently they are deported leaving their families behind here in America to make a tough decision as to stay or go be with family. These families most of the time are mixed citizenship families as to where one or both parents are illegal to this country. As for the children they too sometimes are of mixed citizenship. Most people say â€Å"send them back they broke the law† but why should the children have to pay for their parents mistakes. The government and the justice system need to come up with an immigration reform that is fair to all but still penalize them for breaking the law. If you have a criminal history you should be deported but if the biggest crime you have committed is driving without a license you should not be deported. Not only does the Immigration justice system affect the illegal immigrant it also affect the families and children of the illegal immigrant. â€Å"U. S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have adopted common sense policies that ensure our immigration laws are enforced in a way that best enhances public safety, border security and the integrity of the immigration system (ICE, 2012). † This is how the immigration system is run since September 2011. Before this illegal immigrants who lived in this country only feared deportation if they ommitted a major crime. For that reason most whom where here illegally lived a very productive life without committing any crimes. They started families here in America if they did not already have a family. â€Å"As part of this approach, ICE has adopted clear priorities that call for the agencys enforcement resources to be focused on the identification and removals of those that have broken criminal laws, recently crossed our border, repeatedly violated immigration law or are fugitives from immigration court (ICE, 2012). With this being said does it make you wonder, what happens to the families and children that are also entangled in the Immigration justice system web? The Immigration justice system is breaking up families everyday in America. Morel (2012, p. 1) states, â€Å"There are 4. 5 million U. S. citizen children who have an undocumented parent, according to First Focus, a national children and families advocate group. † So what happens to these children when their parent or parents are deported? Well the answer is a lot of these children are now orphaned in this country and are put into the foster care system. Some are at an age where they will not get to be adopted into a home; they will live for years going from foster home to foster home. As for the children who still has a parent here in America they will be faced with many difficulties. Their parent that was deported was more than likely the â€Å"bread winner† of the family so now the family has to struggle just to survive. The family has to decide whether to stay in their home country or to pack up and move to an unknown foreign country were the children possibly will not even speak the language. The deleterious impact of these public efforts has been most profound on immigrant children, many of whom may be U. S. citizens living with undocumented families. † (Androff et al. , 2011) Therefore the children are affected in every way from physical to mental due to the stress a child is put under at the time of deportation. May the child be a citizen or not of this country they did not chose to live this life and go through the suffering many are enduring. Some people say that it is the illegal immigrant who has been selfish and caused these problems for their children by entering the country illegally. As a result the government should find a fair way to reform immigration for the productive illegal immigrants. Immigration reform has been a topic for several years and still there is no reform. According to an article by Kim, (2012) â€Å"One state lawmaker wants to give illegal immigrants permission to work legally in the country if they dont have a criminal background. † If the illegal immigrant has lived in this country for a number of years without any major crime committed and they have a family, they should be penalize or fined not deported. Illegal immigrants who commit crimes other than simple driving violation should not be granted amnesty. There has to be reform in order to keep these families together or American citizen kids from being moved to an unknown country. This country needs some kind of immigration reform to keep children from suffering. With all this information you can clearly see the negative affects the immigration justice system is having on the family and children of illegal immigrants. Fathers and mothers are being ripped away from their children. When in all reality all they want is to give their children a better life and a fighting chance that they would not have in their own country. America is known as â€Å"the land of dreams and opportunity† and this is what most illegal immigrants want is an opportunity to fulfill their dreams in this country with their family. Therefore the government of our country should find away to reform immigration laws so the family and children of illegal immigrants are not affected in such a negative way.

The great big orange doors. The doors that we have grown so fond of during our four-year stay at Tropics High School -- the cafeteria doors. In an attempt to get to the Commons a split second faster than the person next to you, how many times have you opened those orange doors so hard and fast that you've gone BAM! and heard a response of a groan ... OW! Then in reaction to the yelp, you turn to see a boy with a freshly swollen red spot right in the middle of his forehead. "Sorry," you say with a cheesy grin and you skidaddle away as fast as you possibly can. You never see this boy ever again, except in the most random places and though you don't know his name, you'll always remember to never open the big orange door so fast and so hard ever again. As insignificant as he was in your life, he has taught you a lesson. Or how about the time at your first pep assembly when everyone around you is on their feet screaming at the top of their lungs to "Go Fight Win" and you, a timid, shy freshman, sat awkwardly not knowing what to do. Deep inside, you know you want to get up and be peppy, but a great fear of looking like a total loser prevents you from doing so. However, as you looked around and saw the spirit of the crowd, the pride in their eyes, and the energy pumping through the entire gymnasium and you thought to yourself, "What the heck!?!" Then you got up and cheered like the rest of your fellow classmates. Every person in that gym showing his or her Royal spirit influenced you to get involved. Because of that single decision, maybe later in your high school career you decided to become a cheerleader or even to help rally up the students at another pep assembly. Everything happens for a reason. And everyone that comes into your life, even the most random people who you thought were nothing more than just random people are there for a reason. They are there to serve some sort of a purpose, to teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. You never know who these people may be, possibly the closest person in your life or even a complete stranger, but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.

Literary Villains: Iago and Krogstad Essay

In â€Å"Othello† and â€Å"A Doll House†, the two plays resulted in destruction of two families due to one’s jealousy and revenge. The antagonist in â€Å"Othello† is Iago who served as Othello ancient in the play was against him from the start. Iago had several motives for plotting against Othello, because they did not give him the rank of Lieutenant and he did not approve of the marriage between Othello and Desdemona. In â€Å"A Doll House†, Krogstad was an employee of Mr. Helmer and he knew that he was going to lose his job. These two characters had motives, which resulted in them to develop plots that were not similar, but they both had the same life-altering outcome and were successful. In the play, â€Å"Othello† Iago provided clues that he was going to destroy Othello. In Act I, Scene 1, Iago and Rodrigo (a gulled gentle man) were talking about the promotion of Michael Cassio (Othello’s Lieutenant) and he (Iago) should have been the one to receive the promotion. Iago states â€Å"One Michael Cassio, a Florentine (A fellow almost damned in a fair wife) that never set a squadron in the field, nor the division of a battle knows more than a spinster; unless the bookish theoric, wherein the togged consuls can propose as masterly as he†. He means that Cassio is not married and that he has no experience of leading troops into the battlefield, because Cassio has not gone into war. Iago is jealous that he was did not receive that promotion and he his disloyalty towards Othello. Othello were reference as him, Moor (black) and thick-lips according to the definition in the play it means â€Å"An Elizabethan epithet for blacks, including Moors†. Iago did not approve of Othello and Desdemona’s elopement. Iago informed Brabantino (Desdemona’s Father) of her daughter’s marriage to Othello, he states, â€Å"I am one, sir, that comes to tell you your daughter and the Moor are now making the beast with two backs†. Iago is also an instigator; he wanted to get Brabantino angry over his daughter’s marriage. In Act I, Scene II, Brabantino states â€Å"O thou foul thief, where hast thou stowed my daughter? Damned as thou art, thou hast enchanted her! † Everyone was against Othello with the assistance from Iago. In â€Å"A Doll House† Nils Krogstad knew that his employment at the bank was ending and that Nora’s husband (Torvald Helmer) is now in charge of the bank. Nora took out a loan from Mr. Krogstad without Mr. Helmer (Nora’s husband) knowledge and he threatens that he will tell her husband about the loan. Mr. Krogstad is also aware that there are forged signatures on the loan documents. Nora tried to convince her husband not to fire Mr. Krogstad, but Mr. Helmer is appalled at his wife for taking Mr. Krogstad’s side. The conversation between Nora and Helmer resulted in him sending Mr. Krogstad’s notice immediately. Iago and Krogstad were successful in their plans. In â€Å"Othello†, Iago used numerous schemes to turn everyone against each other. The first one was to turn Othello against Cassio; the second was to make Othello believe that Desdemona and Cassio were having an affair and thirdly his plan for the death of Cassio with hopes of them killing each other. The outcome of Iago’s plan was the death of Rodrigo (who was set up to kill Cassio), Othello killing Desdemona, the death of Emilia (wife to Iago and Desdemona’s friend) and the death of Othello (suicide). In â€Å"A Doll House†, Ms. Linde (Nora’s friend and ex friend of Krogstad) convinced Krogstad that they should belong together and he no longer wanted to blackmail Nora. Ms. Linde was going to convince Krogstad to take his letter back, but she decided that it is best for Nora to be honest to her husband. Mr. Helmer read the letter and was furious. He stated that â€Å"Oh what an awful awakening! In all these eight years- she who was my pride and joy- a hypocrite, a liar- worse, worse- a criminal! † Mr. Helmer reconsiders when he reads the apology letter from Krogstad, but Nora declines. The two plays were similar in the plots to ruin lives, but they do not share the same outcome, because Krogstad apologized for threatening Nora but this revelation opened a door for Nora to end her marriage with Mr. Helmer.
